The
Malaysian Dental Council (MDC) is a statutory body
established under the Dental Act 1971. The Council
aims to ensure the highest professional standards
and ethics in the practice of dentistry in the
interest of patients, the public and the profession
through the administration of the Dental Act 1971
"An Act to
consolidate and amend the law relating to the
registration and practice of dental practitioners
and for national purposes to provide for certain
provisions with regard to a period of service in the
public services after registration as a dental
practitioner; and to make provision for purposes
connected with the aforesaid matter"
1. Recognition of Dental Degrees
2. Registration of Dental Practitioners in Malaysia
3. Issuance of Annual Practising Certificates and Temporary Practising Certificates
4. Maintenance of the Malaysian Dental Register
5. Upholding and maintaining professional standards and ethics in the practice of dentistry
6.
Exercising disciplinary jurisdiction over registered
practitioners who violate the Code of Professional
Conduct or who have committed an offence against the
Dental Act 1971
